A rare find :) 06/15/2009

On the way to work the other morning, I heard an interesting fact.  There are only about 1500 lady slippers in the province of Nova Scotia.  1500?? Thats  all!  They are so rare that infact it is illegal to pick them.  That was all I needed to hear to set myself out on a hunt for the vary rare species of orchid.  Of course I took my camera  along!

Weddings 04/24/2009

Well, the wedding season has definately begun.  I was very fortunate to be part of a very intimate and close ceremony this past weekend.  There were 5 people in the wedding, including Bride and Groom.  Very small affair and very enjoyable to be a part of.  Thank-you Sarah!  I had an AMAZING time!  Below are just a few of my favorite pics...

As I look out the window at the blowing snow, sleet and occasional hail bombs,  have to wonder if Spring will ever come.  This past Friday was so amazingly beautiful, I was convinced it had.  Luckily, while out for a walk at Fisherman's Landing in Cow Bay, I had my camera and was able to capture this beautiful day.

New Gear 04/02/2009

It has been a very busy week, lots going on.  The biggest event was my trip to Henry's Camera Store.  Just opened in Bayers Lake, for a photographer, its like Disney Land!  I picked up some new glass and couldn't wait to put it  to use.  My favorite family, the Savage's were quite willing to let me try it out on them :)!  Below are some of my favorites:

Rays Reptile Zoo 03/07/2009

Last weekend we did a trip to Rays Reptile Zoo.  They had so much to see, a three legged Aligator named Lady Chomps-a-lot.  A huge python and a Bearded Dragon to say the least.  Not really my favorite creatures to photograph, but I did manage to snap a few shots... when I dared to get close enough that is :)).

Welcome to 2009! 01/06/2009

Wow!  2009 already!  I don't know about you, but I can hardly believe it.  I am looking forward to 2009, this is going to be a great year.  2008 proved to be a very good year for myself and my family.  My skills in photography have improved by leaps and bounds and I can only imagine how much I will improve in the comming year.  I am anxiously looking forward to meeting more people, families, and capturing those special moments forever in time.

Christmas was a dream come true for my kids.  They got everything they were hoping for and I was estatic to see their little smiles on Christmas morning as they opened up their gifts.  They grow up so fast, I just love to freeze these moments in a photograph.

How lucky am I to be able to photograph such beautiful children.  The Galbraith's invited me into their home this past weekend so that they could create some Christmas Cards for their friends and family.  The kids truly were adorable.  As you can see in the pictures, they were more than happy to smile for the camera :).  Thank-you Mr. and Mrs. Galbraith!  Your truly blessed.

I had the privelege today to photograph two of the most beautiful children I have ever seen.  The Mom from my maternity gallery agreed to allow me to come take some shots of her new addition.  I was very happy to oblidge.  Such a sweet baby, I propped and prodded him and he never uttered a single complaint.  His older brother was just as wonderful.  What great big blue eyes he has, I couldn't resist some close ups of those.  Thank-you Mr and Mrs Savage, I had a wonderful time :)

ahhhh October :) 11/03/2008

October, the month of Ghosts and Goblins, Freaks and Ferries.... leaves changing color and pumpkins glowing orange.  I have to admit that of all the months of the year, October and December have to be my very favorites.  We went to the Public Gardens a few weekends ago as soon the iron gates will close for yet another long winter.  After our last visit to the Public Gardens for the season, off to the valley to check out the Pumpkin People!

Well, I have been sick with Strep Throat for 2 weeks, finally feeling like getting up and going for a walk this past weekend.  I am very fortunate to live just a stone's throw from what I consider to be Nova Scotia's best kept secret, the Salt Marsh Trail.  Located just off Bissett Road in Cole Harbour, it stretches from Eastern Passage all the way up to Lawrencetown Beach.  Haven't attempted to walk that far, but I did manage to walk a little ways, took some pictures along the way.  It was a beautiful morning and I am happy to share....If you are ever in the area, its definately worth a trip in to take in all it has to offer.  Absolutly beautiful :).
