Well, I have been sick with Strep Throat for 2 weeks, finally feeling like getting up and going for a walk this past weekend.  I am very fortunate to live just a stone's throw from what I consider to be Nova Scotia's best kept secret, the Salt Marsh Trail.  Located just off Bissett Road in Cole Harbour, it stretches from Eastern Passage all the way up to Lawrencetown Beach.  Haven't attempted to walk that far, but I did manage to walk a little ways, took some pictures along the way.  It was a beautiful morning and I am happy to share....If you are ever in the area, its definately worth a trip in to take in all it has to offer.  Absolutly beautiful :).

Since my daughter was old enough to talk, all she has ever talked about are horses.  Girls love horses, my daughter is infactuated with them.  All horses all the time.  This past weekend we took her for her first horse ride at Hatfield Farms in Hammonds Plains Nova Scotia.  She was awed and amazed.  What a great day we had.  After our horse ride, we were allowed in the petting zoo then the kids were all given free ice cream!  When we left, she begged and begged us to go to the pet store and buy her a pet horse.. :).

Annapolis Valley Apple Picking

There is nothing better in my mind that picking apples fresh off the trees in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.  This weekend we were blessed with perfect weather for picking.  The day started with a wagon ride to scope out the best trees for picking, off we went with bags in hand and began to pick apples.  Hard to say how many apples actually made it into the bags though :).  Wish we didn't have to say good-bye to summer, but Fall does have its advantages :)
